A hydrogen sulfide (H2Scap H sub 2 cap S𝐻2𝑆) sensor is a device that detects the concentration of hydrogen sulfide gas in the air, often using either electrochemical or metal oxide semiconductor (MOS) technology. These sensors are crucial for safety in industrial environments like oil and gas refineries and wastewater treatment plants, and they provide a real-time output proportional to the gas's concentration. 

An LEL sensor detects the concentration of combustible gases in the air and measures it against the Lower Explosive Limit (LEL) to prevent explosions. They work by using a sensor element, such as a platinum resistor, which catalytically oxidizes flammable gases.
